Edison lamp

I have always had a very special interest in the lamps created by Thomas Edison. Its shape, which at that time only responded to functional criteria, has today a very appealing aesthetic.

With the proliferation of fluorescent light bulbs, a certain way of creating an environment, which the Danes call “Hygge”, has been lost. “Hygge” can be translated as a welcoming environment to receive friends, usually lit by candlelight, and these lamps can recreate that in a wonderful way.

But back to the light bulbs, an opportunity arose to acquire a replica and to photograph it for a personal project, where I created some abstract images that conveyed this welcoming feeling that contrasts with its industrial and functional form.

I present below some of those images, wishing a “Hygge” ambiance for everyone.
